So I did a little damage this weekend and bought a Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting lipstick in 450 Insolent Plum and a MAC Pro Longwear lip pencil in Fashion Boost. And lets be honest now, I really didn’t need them but that doesn’t matter 😉
For a while I wanted to get my hands on MAC’s Rebel lipstick. I think everyone owns it and I was so close to buying it but then I saw the Estee Lauder lipsticks and tried this one on and notice it is exactly the same colour as Rebel. I think Rebel is a bit more pinky/rosy then Insolent Plum but on the hands and lips they are exactly the same and when I tried them on my lips I liked the consistently of this one better. The formula is smooth, pigmented and somewhat hydrating (much more then Rebel). The undertone is cool which I love and it seems like it won’t bleed out easily- but still need to wear it for a bit to fully confirm. I m glad that I went with this lipstick- and the packaging is so chic and beautiful. The cap is magnetic so it closes well and won’t open up while in the bag.
With the MAC lip pencil, this was such a impulsive buy and when I went to the counter to pay I was surprised because the liner turned out to be $28 (Canadian). I don’t have a problem paying that much for a lip liner or even more but I would never pay that much for a MAC lip liner- just doesn’t seem right. I rather pay that much or more for a YSL or Chanel lip pencil. Apparently since its from the pro line and its also limited edition, its price is more than the regular MAC lip pencil. Anyways, I fell in love with the colour and went with it. It is a dry formula and its hard to fill in the whole lips with, but the pigmentation is great and so is the longevity. I can’t wait to play with it and try it under different lipsticks.
Have you tried any Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy lipsticks? I know they have been the talk of the town recently in the makeup community, and I see why now!
